How therapy works:

I practice from a culturally responsive, relational lens.

This means that our work together may consider how your identities, experiences, and context relate to your mental health.

I often support individuals and families using the following therapy approaches:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

Infant-Parent Psychotherapy

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

Narrative Therapy

Play Therapy (in-person and virtual options)

Psychodynamic and Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy

During our first session, I will support you by developing a treatment plan that considers your goals, needs, and hopes for therapy.

Duration of treatment depends on your goals; I offer brief (8-12 session) and long-term therapy options.

I offer sessions online (for residents of California and Oregon) and in-person in El Cerrito.

Teletherapy and in-office therapy can be equally effective. I can help you decide which is best for you based on your location and needs.

I also offer home, park, and school visits in and around El Cerrito. This can be a great way for people with disabilities, kids with busy schedules, and/or new parents to access mental health support.

If you would like to meet in-person, Sesame may be available to join your sessions!
A medium size, golden, short haired dog rests in a soft dog bed with her paw hanging over the side. She is gazing at the camera with a calm expression.
As a Therapy Dog in-Training, Sesame loves to support you by sitting peacefully nearby. She often asks for head rubs and back scratches, and she may offer you her paw to hold!
